Melissa & Chris | Engagement

A couple of weekends ago we headed out on what was probably the windiest day of the year to shoot an engagement session with Melissa and Chris.  We're really excited to shoot their wedding next summer, and this was a fun opportunity to get to know them!  Thanks for braving the gale-force winds, you two!  We can't wait for your wedding! :)

Family | More specifically, my family!

Well, we've blogged about the joys of photographing nephews, but now on to the joys of photographing an extremely busy one-year-old...my daughter. Brandi took on the challenge of taking our family pictures again this year; however, this proved to be much more difficult than last time. Taelyn is now approaching the 18-month mark and can run like the wind...and then fall down. We chose Wascana View park as the location, which provided a little too much temptation for Taelyn. The only thing Taelyn loves more than running (and eating) is other kids, and the sound of kids playing nearby had her in full sprint to the playground on several occasions. Thanks again Auntie Brandi for attempting to make us all look beautiful and patiently waiting while we tried to catch our child. We absolutely love the pictures - you're the best!

Family | Ehman-Kells style ;)

A couple weekends ago my sister and her husband rounded up their boys and we headed to Douglas Park to take their family photos. Photographing kids is always entertaining, but photographing your nephews is really something else;) Brandi and I had to come up with several creative alternatives to traditional shooting as the boys grew tired of Auntie Kristen taking their pictures AGAIN. Fortunately I'm just uncool enough to resort to headstands and other gimmicks to make a 6-year-old like me. There are few better ways to spend a Sunday afternoon than watching two of the cutest boys in the world let loose and have a great time. Mary, thanks for letting us photograph your beautiful family.

they could only smile normally for so long...

Couples | Lauren + Travis

Last Saturday we headed out with two of our brave volunteers, Lauren and Travis, to explore a few locations we'd been wanting to try for awhile. The afternoon was a learning experience...first, the location we'd been wanting to try for months was a bust - almost literally:) Then we discovered our second location was a popular hangout for birds who don't seem fond of humans. Fortunately for us, Lauren and Travis weren't phased by any of it and were the perfect models for a great afternoon of shooting. Lauren and Travis, it was great meeting you guys and we really appreciate you being such fantastic sports! Thank you so much!
