Photolife | Emerging Photographers of 2010

Although this post is quite late, we're still excited to share our news! One of our images was selected in Photolife Canada's Emerging Photographers 2010 competition. We were the only Saskatchewan entrant selected, and our image was also the only wedding shot featured. We're honoured to have our work published with so many talented and diverse photographers from across the country. If you don't have a chance to check out the August/September issue of Photolife, here's an excerpt from their article:

"Going beyond social boundaries, standard techniques and established rules, the images of the 2010 Emerging Photographers Competition showcase the freshest ideas and trends in today's photography. From over 1500 submissions received, 37 images were selected that exhibit not only incredible photographic skill and talent, but also ingenuity and creativity. These up-and-coming Canadian photographers expose the simple wonders of daily life, capture images found in their imaginations, mix ordinary objects with the extraordinary and pique our interest with intriguing subjects, compositions, and colours. Demonstrating a fearless and no-taboo approach to photography, the 2010 Emerging Photographers remind us of the importance of a true, uncompromised photographic vision."

Wedding | Mike & Meaghan

Last weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Mike & Meaghan's wedding in Regina. Mike & Meaghan have to be two of the nicest people in the world. They're both so laid back, kind and thoughtful - definitely a perfect match. Meaghan and Mike, we had an amazing time photographing your wedding! Your families and wedding party were so much fun and you were all so great to work with! We hope you're having a fantastic time on your Mediterranean cruise (even though we're slightly jealous :).

Jaezila

Last week Brandi and I headed out with Jaezila for a fun night of shooting. Jaez needed some headshots for her dance auditions, and we decided it would be fun to take some fashion and dance shots as well. It was a great night and I'm sure everyone in Douglas Park enjoyed the impromptu show as Jaezila danced away on the hill. Jaez, thanks for making our jobs so easy. You're definitely a natural in front of the camera. It won't be long until you're travelling around with some lucky studio - we can't wait to come watch you perform! Have a safe trip back to Vancouver!

Wedding | Chad + Erika

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Jessie from Ruby Blue Photography to photograph Chad and Erika's wedding in Moose Jaw.  Shooting in MJ was a new experience for me, having never worked there before, and I loved it - can't wait to go back!  Not to mention that I couldn't have asked for a better bride and groom to photograph - Chad and Erika and their wedding party were super fun to work with.  Thanks for asking me to tag along Jessie!  Hope that baby of yours makes his/her appearance soon:)
