Hola!

My husband and I just returned from our second trip to the Mayan Riviera, Mexico.  About an hour south of Cancun, on the north-western corner of the Caribbean Sea, this area of Mexico is so beautiful!  We would go back again and again.  There is so much to do and see in the Mayan, whether you are up for adventure, ready to explore the ancient cultures, or just want to relax on one of the many beautiful beaches.  We had a couple of rainy mornings on this trip, but it cleared up into hot, sunny weather by 11:00 a.m.  We also had one rainy day, but it wasn't so bad that we couldn't go into the nearest town (Playda del Carmen) and check out some of the shops and pubs.  We ate lunch in a little hole-in-the-wall pub on 5th Ave in Playa, and also stopped at the local Senor Frogs for a drink.  On another day we checked out the Mayan ruins in the town of Tulum.  Many of the ruins here are set on cliffs high above beautiful beaches and the turquoise Caribbean Sea.  Our trip also included lots of snorkelling, zip-lining, cave swimming, catamaran-ing (catamaran-ing? Probably not a word, but I'll use it anyway!), margarita-drinking, and of course just relaxing on the beach.

The pictures below are a few snaps from my trip - the town of Playa del Carmen, a boat on the beach in Playa, Mayan ruins on a cliff in Tulum, and the beach at the resort we stayed at.
